All about Rainbows

Noah was all about colors and rainbows. Constantly painting them or organizing anything into a rainbow pattern – cases and cases of unused crayons rearranged into the gradients of the rainbow, markers, paints, Legos, rocks, crystals – trillions of “color journals.” He made everything into rainbow colors. The strange thing was, you would think it would be because his name is Noah and the stories from the Bible. It wasn’t. Colors were just amazing to him and when Zaza and I told him that in Heaven there were colors that he has never seen before -
I thought he was never going to stop smiling!! :-)

On Monday, he was cremated – a very hard day for me… I don’t know why…he has been free of his shell for a week – rejoicing! Well…on Monday…guess what was in the sky?

A rainbow around the sun!

    Amber and Dennis,

Thanks for the beautiful story. I’m sure those colorful journals will be a wonderful treasure for you to keep forever. What a great way to remember such a special boy! I am really looking forward to his life celebration in a few weeks.

I also wanted to take the time to say how glad I was that I got to see you both the other day, even though we did end up all bawling our eyes out. I said it before and I’ll say it again: I am so very proud of you two. From the first day of diagnosis up until this very moment, I have never witnessed such love from parents to their child. You guys took such wonderful care of your boy. I’ve never seen anything like it and I am very glad to say that I got to see such an amazing display strength, hope and care. I’m so very proud to call you both my friends.

Treating someone with cancer is a delicate balance of keeping treatment in line with quality of life as you know all too well. I think you guys did an amazing job on that front: You gave him two and a half years more than many doctors were expecting and you did it while keeping Noah’s quality of life at the forefront. For that, you should be commended and I want you to know just how much your tenacity and love for your child shone through in every blog post, every doctor’s visit and every sleepless night. Noah knew it too! He knew how lucky he was and what wonderful parents he had…of that I’m certain!

I hope and wish for continued healing and strength to you, Dennis and Landin. While I know right now you must feel so many emotions and the wound in your soul is still so fresh, I hope you can both visualize a day in the future where the scar on your heart has begun to do its work of repair. The scar will never fade, but it will help to mend the hole and ease the pain.

Shanon and I love you both. Please take care and we will see you on the 23rd to help celebrate and remember your special son!

    Amber,

Do you think anyone who has even heard about Noah will ever look at a rainbow again without seeing that Beautiful Boy? I have no doubt that it was Noah’s way of telling you that he is happy in Heaven with God.

I have asked and been sent a sign that he is with our Lord. No pain, no chemo, no radiation, no blood draws, no transfusions, no seizures, no tremors, no headaches, no loss of appetite just a healthy and happy beautiful boy spending eternity with our savior.

We have a beautiful rainbow picture that Noah created for Grandpa Larkin a year ago in April for his birthday. We have that picture framed and hanging in our bedroom. We see that rainbow and think of Noah before sleep, upon waking and every time we come into the bedroom.

A rainbow: Def: A bow or arc of prismatic color appearing in the Heavens opposite the sun, caused by the refraction and reflection of the sun’s rays in drops of rain…

While rainbows have always been a sign of calm after a storm (since the beginning of time,) NEVER have our rainbows been so bright or meant so much. Amongst many things Noah is helping with in Heaven, I believe he has been appointed to light up the sky with beautiful rainbows.

We love and miss you all,
    Grandma & Grandpa Larkin

i truly believe that we are not humans with a spirit inside. in fact we are the opposite. we are spirits encased in a human form border. that being said, you are one of the most beautiful people i know; inside and out.
and noah has no boundaries, now.

Wow, Amber this is just simply amazing. He is loved and missed by many, you are not alone. I can assure you that Noah had a huge impact on my life. One that not many people know. When I came into the RCIA program 18 months ago it was just before you and Noah came in. I met Noah for the first time at the church tour. I remember him coming in with so much life. Here he was this child of God with all the light in the world. I remember him waiting for Father to come in he had so many questions that night. That night was my second session, in the program. The first one did not go well at all. I was ready to quit I felt so out of place. Then the following week I got to watch this most amazing little boy “Our Noah”. And it was then I knew I was where I should be in that class. I was baptized at Easter this year and not only do I attribute that to God, myself, Father, but I attribute it to Noah as well. <3 I have spent 18 months in the first row of that church with my mother, praying for peace within His will for this child of God. Watching him take the bread of eternal life. He is TRULY amazing and will continue to do great things, to live in all of us, and to bring us together as a community for may years to come. As always my mother and I will be their for the celebration, just as we have shared many other church events that he has been a part of.
