Ok…a couple of weeks ago I posted Noah’s crazy “tooth behind a tooth” – “Sharkboy!” Well, I got oncology permission to take him to the dentist to get it checked out. WHOA!!!! Look at the size of what’s to come!!!! Yikes!!!
It was Lulu’s first appointment and she was amazing! Of course, big brother showed her the ropes! (They are so cute together!) But those teeth are crazy!!!!
No more negative! I still have my phone and the pictures will continue! Noah is feeling great today and he is playing like crazy with Landin. They are so cute together and we are blessed!
Happy Birthday Sweet Baby Girl! Four years old on 4th of July!!! On the 2nd, we took her to Disney. She was “bibbidi bobbidi boutiqued.” And in Landin style she said “I want to be Tiana with pink hair!” Ok, baby girl.
Thank you Heather, Sarah, Asa and Kelly Joyce!! (One human should not be this blessed to have so many good people in her life!!!)
I’m going to be on FOX at 10 tonight and I know that if everyone “Facebooks” and puts the word out, I will get our memories back. And… (High Schoolers/Facebook pros) … there is a $500 REWARD!!!
If anyone knows anyone in local news, I need help. Last night my car was broken into and a bag with my camera and video camera was in it. All of the pictures and video from Noah’s final “Wish” trip were in the cameras – all of the memories I have. I do have some of the still pictures, but none of the video. I guess I forgot to bring it in because I was bringing in groceries for Landin’s Birthday party today. It’s her birthday today. The car was locked in the driveway.
I have to get those memory cards back!! I want to do a news story to plead for the card backs. If anyone can help, please let me know. The criminals know where I live, they can just send them back in a black envelope.
From two to five years old, Noah was OBSESSED with “Cars.” Pixar’s Cars. So every birthday, Halloween, his room, his clothes, his bathroom … Cars, Cars, Cars! When it first came out, we didn’t let him see it but we bought the soundtrack and played it constantly. That was the first time I knew he had a love for music. We were in the car and I looked in the rear view and he was silently sobbing. I asked “What’s wrong sweetheart?” He said “Why is this music so sad?? What is going on at this time in the movie??” He was right; it was the James Taylor song about the town being abandoned. He said “Mom, you know music tells a story too.” He was 3.
So, we got the DVD, (I was giant pregnant with Landin) we stapled a king size sheet up on the wall, plugged in the little work projector out and had our first family “movie night.” Noah’s first movie night… Noah’s first movie – Cars!
With the new movie out, we got nostalgic! We got all of his cars stuff (that I had packed away and will keep FOREVER), spread it out on the floor and played all day! (Mom and Dad probably had more fun than anyone! We even found the “Rust•ese Tent” that Mom & Dad had to make, complete with homemade, iron-on logos.) Landin said “Mommy, for MY birthday, I want a Princess, Cars and Star Wars Birthday!!! (Her birthday is forth of July and we are taking her to see Cars 2 – Her first movie at a theater!!!!!)
I’m not sure I need to write any more! We got to go to Pixar!!!!!
This amazing “friend chain” that we have been blessed with started way back when all of this first began in the fall of 2009. My friend Dave called his friend Shawn who works at ILM – (George Lucas’ company that created Star Wars and every special effect movie on the planet; The “Holy Grail” of film and effects creativity!) Shawn jumps into action (not knowing us at all) and sends Noah this unbelievable box of all thing Star Wars! (And boy did we need it! That’s when we were going through major radiation, everyday was a nightmare and I used Star Wars to get him through it.) Shawn was so gracious and kind and said “Noah, you come and see us!!! Anytime!!” I always prayed we would get the chance, but at that time, we couldn’t even think past the next day and I could NEVER say anything about California in case it couldn’t happen.
Well it was time! Angel Shawn got out the trumpets and called his friends at Pixar! It was unbelievable! It was a GORGEOUS day – about 55 degrees, sunny and off we go to meet our new friend Matt at Pixar. Noah is with his best friend Nate and we see the sign. (The Hervat’s met us out there so the boys could be together – that was part of Noah’s wish! Thank you Mark & Maryellen!)
OK… here’s the part that’s going to kill me about posting this trip. You know I can get “picture crazy” … so I post thousands of pictures… I love them! Well, I CAN’T!!! Legally!!! (It will be ok Amber…breathe…) At most of the places we went, I pricked my finger in blood and they let me take pictures of Noah where pictures are prohibited. (God Bless them!) So, I can only share approved pictures with you, but let me promise – you can still see the joy pouring out of this child! He was speechless! “Mom, I can’t believe this! All of this! It’s just too big…just too big, too great!”
Matt gave us the most amazing tour. Kevin gave Noah a drawing of “Dug” (one my favorites!) The animators gave him a poster (that is already framed and hanging in his room) and a pile of gifts from their hearts. The kids laughed, asked questions and were having a ball! (Ok, ok… the tears of joy were flowing from Mom too!)
Thank you Matt! Thank you Kevin, Jon and all of the selfless, talented artists at Pixar! God Bless you!
I have been trying to write this for 3 weeks now. Have you ever tried to describe something that is so overwhelming and meant so much, that you just can’t. That sums up our California trip. Noah is still overwhelmed. (I’m still overwhelmed!!) This trip was the trip of a lifetime for him and all of us. Everyone involved made all of his dreams come true. Ok, here it goes… I’m going to write!
His celebration of life service will be held at Corpus Christi Catholic Church.

The force will always be strong with this one. Praise God! We are wearing green – Noah’s favorite color – and as you can imagine, when honoring a Jedi, there will many there. Very child friendly. It is a celebration of his life!
