Hello and thanks for trying to vote! We will get them next time and I will try to know more in advance.
So, last weekend we went to Kennedy Space Center to see the launch. Wonderful friends of my Mother (and now myself) Tony and Wanda sent Noah a package from NASA last March inviting him to come out for a tour. They are best friends with an astronaut, Tamara Jernigan, who was on an Endeavor Mission. He was way too sick at the time, but we put it in the back of our heads. Now was the time to take it out! Zaza (aka: Nancy, my Mom) made lots of calls and Jillian at KSC whipped up a VIP day that Noah would never forget. Thank you Jillian, NASA and everyone at Kennedy Space Center!!!!
We got there super early to be bused out to the VIP launch area. (Yes, I did have green bracelets and a speech prepared for the President.)
Before we did that, they severed lunch and we had some time to visit the attractions.
Ok… this is a blog side note…. I’m noticing something. If you have ever watched the Oceans 11, 12 or 13 movies, you will see that Brad Pitt is eating in almost every scene. I think he and Lulu have something in common!
We started walking back to the bus area and … da, da donnnnnn! Scrubbed!!!! I thought, well we could still meet the President. Noah said “Can we please go check out whatever that Lego thing is?” President… Legos? Legos win!!!!
Just to let all of America know, this was the reason the launch was scrubbed, not a heater. I apologize, it was our fault. This is what happened and if the launch would have gone off, we would have missed this -
The amazing company of Lego was doing an educational exhibition where the children got to come in and build their hearts out, with mountains of Legos and display their works! “Mom, I know where most of these pieces come from, but there are pieces I have never seen before!!!!! Minds were blown!!!!
And here was the most amazing part… Noah found out that some of the actual Lego designers from Denmark were there!!! “Mom the real guys!!!!” Noah met the most wonder man, Daire, who now is his HERO! He designed the new space rocket that won’t be in North American until next year. When Daire told Noah that he didn’t need the instruction, because they were in his head… I thought Noah was going to explode!!!!
While Noah interviewed him for hours (literally) Zaza and I got to chat with Stephan Turnipseed, President of LEGO Education North America. What a wonderful man with the same the philosophy “Children think with their hands!” Legos have always stimulated Noah’s brain and from the day of his first surgery, they have been a blessing to us!!! (He has done over 150 sets!) What a great, great day!!
We stayed the rest of the weekend, waiting for the shuttle and playing in the sand. God blessed us again!
(Sorry about the shuttle everyone, our fault.)
